What is the Galactic Market?
The Galactic Market (GM), is a central location where players of the Star Wars Combine can buy, sell and trade.
The GM aims to accompany IRC (Internet Relay Chat) and other means of communication within the Combine, facilitate and enhance trade between players.
By taking an eBay-like approach to trading, allowing for 'Auctions' and 'Buy It Now' listings to be posted, the GM hopes to allow for easy trading.
With advanced listing features, automatic auction ending along with many other options, the GM provides a positive trading community in the Combine.
For more information, read the Galactic Market For The Rest Of Us!
Is it connected to the Combine?
The Galactic Market is not an official Star Wars Combine website, and therefore it is not directly connected to its database.
This means that any purchases made on the Galactic Market need to be finalized using Darkness.
The Galactic Market does however, during registration and at set intervals, check the validity of accounts used on the Galactic Market by comparing those on the Star Wars Combine. For more information, please reference the Combine's section on web services.
What can I buy or sell here?
There is a wide selection of goods which can be sold using the Galactic Market.
Listings can be chosen from many different categories, covering all of the available types of own able items currently available within the Combine.
This ranges from ships, vehicles, raw materials and even information such as sector scans or planet locations.
We strive to keep up to date on any advancements in terms of trade able items in the Combine, and these can then always be sold using the Galactic Market.
What happens after I have sold something?
At the end of a listing, be it a successful sale or time-out, all parties involved are contacted by e-mail.
You will receive an e-mail, detailing all of the required information to complete your sale.
If successful, it is then up to the two parties to finalize the deal and transfer the goods.
After a trade, a rating of the other party can be left which indicates their efficiency, trustworthiness and recommendation to other traders.
If a sale did not succeed (it didn't reach the reserve price, or there was no buyer) the item can be re-listed with a single click of the mouse.
How does the Galactic Market protect traders?
The Galactic Market emulates the eBay reputation system.
We allow people to rate a trader (both buyer and seller) after each successful trade.
These ratings represent the trader's reputation within the Galactic Market, which can then be viewed by anyone.
This creates an environment of trust where experienced and new traders can be certain that the person they are dealing with are trustworthy.
The addition of web services to the Galactic Market also entails that users are who they say they are, and thus scamming is much less of an issue.
I was cheated/stolen from! Where do I go?
If you feel that you have been cheated, or stolen from, the first thing to do is try and work it out with the other party.
If the other party does not resolve the situation, or does not respond within a reasonable time the best option is to give them a negative rating along with an appropriate comment.
There is little that can be done for the money/goods lost, however by giving the person a negative rating, you can be sure their business will decline significantly.
If you still feel not enough has been done, simply visit any one of your local bounty hunting factions.

I'm using Opera, i cannot see any scroll bars?!
The GM uses seperate style sheets for Gecko (Firebird, Firefox, Mozilla etc.) and Explorer (Internet Explorer, NeoBrowser, MyIE etc.) based browsers.
Therefore, make sure Opera DOES NOT identify itself as Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0.
Any of the other options should work fine.
You can find these settings in your options menu.
Can I advertise on the Galactic Market?
We allow anyone to advertise their Combine related web sites on the right hand side of the web page.
If you would like to advertise there please send the following to us:
A link to your web site.
A link to a 175*420 advertisement. (Flash recommended)
